Is it just me or I feel like there are more weddings in the first weekends and the last weekends of the month…  this past weekend I had 3 brides starting on Thursday night- Jessica’s henna party:

Jessica who wanted something rather simple on both hands and feet and she wanted her guests to have something as well.

Friday morning at 8am (one of the rare occasion I needed to get up early..).  and maybe because of it, I was on the other side of town looking for her building, lol..  it was 355W 85th st,  NOT east side stupid! (me).

Nidhi was just hands and feet smaller bridal.

since it was such a beautiful day, I enjoy the little walk through central park on the way home

then the last bride started at 9pm..  only henna artists get these odd hours :D..

Rachel was simpler bridal.

then my 3 brides are done :)  went off to forro dancing after.  hey, it’s was Friday night!

This past week I had few Clients for different occasions.  I’ll tell you about the one’s I have photos of.

Linda was going to the Gala of her foundation, so she wanted to wear Luxe Glow for this special occasion for her.  I met Linda at an event last year, she saw my work and loved it and remembered me for this year’s event

Then I had Anisha, who was getting married over Memorial Day Weekend in Vermont.  She contacted me couple of month ago and was trying to figure out the whether she wanted to get her mehndi done in Manhattan or in Vermont.  I’m so glad she decided to do in Manhattan, traveling to VT is a long trip and would have costed  a lot more.  Even though it was a last minute the timing worked out perfectly.  Her fiance was German and he had many of his family and friends traveled in from Europe so it was an interesting henna night we had at her apartment.  I finished my job with a great selection of cheese, bread and fruits :).  It was delicious (it was too good I ate a bit too much I had a tummy ache for a bit :O stupid me..). Ok enough about my tummy ache,  here’s her bridal mehndi.

Oh, the last but not the least, I finally tried out copper I got from Wendy :),  I love it! it shows better on my skin.  Thank you Wendy!

I just had a bridal shower and a mehndi party for Allie and Vilas this week.  Friday was a Allie’s bridal shower hosted by her sisters Fiona and Joanna at Allie’s apartment.  She was really looking forward to her mehndi and was looking for henna artist with her sisters and they came across my site and fell in love with my work.  It’s always flattering when I hear something like this.  Allie was only getting her palms done since she was wearing a white gown but both of her sisters and her friend was able to enjoy henna and I had lovely time meeting them.

Her fiance side of the family hosted their mehndi party on Sat afternoon, this was a larger get together since children weren’t attending the wedding on Sunday.  So I attended the children first.   Little girls are always so cute, they get very excited and if they are old enough they know what to do and very well behaved.  I always get scared with boys what they are going to ask for (since sometimes I get request for something complicated like a tiger or a cartoon characters..) I was able to convince them to do dragons and all I was asked to do was a dinosaur which I was able to make it up.. phew.. and the boys were happy with them.  Evey one was all dressed up and place was beautifully decorated, it was such an honor to be part of their celebration.  They  told me later on that even though they were looking for henna artist separately,  they both loved my work and Allie told her mother in law about my site and turned out they were both looking at the same site!  How flattering is this!!

Well, I don’t have any photos yet to show you but, this is what I did for her.  Naomi is half Guyanese and always wanted to get henna for her wedding but she came across Luxe Glow and thought this was for her.  She had two gowns so we discussed the designs to accommodate both gowns.  I can’t wait to see the photos of her in dresses!  I’ll post them when i get them.

For personal reasons I was not able to have henna done on my wedding.
After a long, exhausting search on henna alternatives, I found online
Akiyo’s photos of her silver and white henna designs. The pictures
were beautiful… but they did no justice to how gorgeous her work
looked in person. I went with gold henna designs to match my outfit
and it really completed my look. I received so many compliments from
people expressing how much they loved the gold design over traditional
henna. Akiyo’s work made me feel special and I couldn’t have been more
thrilled

Your work on my hands and feet for my wedding was amazingly gorgeous. I (and many others) stared at my hands for hours admiring the artistry. I was so sad when it started to fade. You were so warm and calm while you were spending the hours with the application - it helped me relax and enjoy the entire experience. I only wish I could do it all over again.

Three weeks after I got married and Akiyo’s henna designs have almost faded. Her designs are amazing and I loved showing off my hands and feet almost as much as I loved showing off my dress. My maid of honor and I had a blast hanging out with Akiyo while she worked her magic. I loved the way the henna looked so much, maybe I’ll get married again!
